Gaylan Royn Anderson, 76, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away on January 21, 2017. Mr. Anderson was born October 15, 1940 in Joplin, Missouri. Gaylan grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma and graduated from McAlester High School. He was fortunate enough to attend Oklahoma Military Academy and Eastern Oklahoma State College, Wilburtin Campus. Gaylan was adventurous and loved the outdoors. Throughout his career, his passion and his knowledge of the road construction business he was well respected. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Gaylan is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cheryl Williams. Survivors include his wife: Jeannie of Checotah, Oklahoma; son: Robert (Nickole) Anderson of Ellington, Missouri; daughters: Keri Burk of Jefferson City, Missouri, Debra (Bill) Karr of Victoria, Texas, Kristen (David) Permenter of Los Angeles, California, Donna (Chris) Brown of Browsville, Texas; eight grandchildren; sisters: Shalla (Homer) Hammons of Stillwell, Kansas, Linda Walston of Redington Beach, Florida along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
