Norvel Eugene Mills He was an 86 year old devout husband, father and grandfather of Sapulpa, OK; born May 15th, 1929 in Hitchcock, Oklahoma to Carl and Mary Mills. Gene went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16th, 2015. Gene graduated high school from Hitchcock and was a farmer. He worked at Boeing as a Quality Control Supervisor and manager. He retired 25 years later in 1988. Gene lived in Yukon, Oklahoma until his move to Sapulpa, Oklahoma 36 years ago with his wife Jean Mills. Gene was a devout follower of God; he was an example for us all on how to live our lives putting Christ first. He enjoyed riding his John Deere tractor and spending time with his grandkids. Gene was a hard worker with great wisdom, always putting others first. He had a gruff, booming voice but once you got to know him, you soon realized that he was a teddy bear who would do anything you asked. Although he dearly loved his family, and we will miss him dearly, he was excited to go home with the Lord. We are certain that he is living his dream of riding the Lord's John Deere tractor in his new home up in heaven. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Jean Mills, whom he married July 7, 1976. They just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Clark and her husband Ronnie, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; son Glenn Mills and his wife, Roberta of Moore; his daughter, Karen Brankel and her husband, Norman of Yukon; his daughter in love, Janice Mills-Lawrence and husband, Rick of Piedmont; step-son Danny Sterbenz of Bethany. He is also survived by siblings: Jo Ramer and husband, J.C. of Omega; Bess Dighton of Guthrie; Louise Kennet of Clinton; Larry Mills of Tonganoxie, Kansas; David Mills of Gary; Marion Mills and wife, Donna of Oklahoma City. He has 9 wonderful grandchildren. Angie Stiener and husband, David; Heather Giggers and husband, Keith; Joyce Leach and husband Cody; Christopher Clark and wife Amanda; Jason Brankel; Christopher Brankel; Caleb Mills; Emilie Garrelts and husband Brett; Christian Edlund and wife Emily. He has 16 amazing great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Mills; his brothers Douglas and Bill Mills; his sister, Vivian Callaway; his son, Dennis Mills, and his step-son, Troy Sterbenz.
