Obituary

Gerald Lee Nelson, Sr., better known as "Jerry" passed away November 8th 2014 at the age of 69. Jerry was born January 22, 1945 in Oklahoma City to Paul Geneva Nelson. Jerry was a Godly man who loved studying his Bible. He loved the Lord and knew Him on a personal level. He trusted Him to lead his life and thats exactly what He did. God lead him to Lana and they spent 13 loving years together as husband and wife. Jerry worked many years at a painter. In fact, Jerry worked a lot on many different things. It seemed like there really wasnt anything that he couldnt fix. Even though he was limited with his hands, he was able to do more, see more, fix more, love more and live more than most other people. He could take anything and creatively build something with it. His family was always so amazed at his resilience and determination. Jerry taught his children many things but one of the things that stands out is Jerry was truly an example of, "Do More with Less". In fact, his motto was, "Use it or Lose It". He was an amazing man who never gave up on life, or living it. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Lana; his 4 children, Gerald Lee Nelson, Jr. and wife Angel, Karen Hughes and husband Keith, David Nelson and wife Kellie and Erica Dreadfulwater and husband Jeremy; 11 grandchildren: Sommer, Jesse, Derek, Zack, Karsen, Brock, Dakota, Natalie, William, Braiden and Brandon; 1 great-grandchild, Avalie; a brother, Pat Nelson and wife, Connie. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Paul Nelson and a brother, Paul Nelson.
