Obituary

Glenn Dale Eddington, 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away October 4, 2016, just three weeks short of his 90th birthday. He was born in Vinita Oklahoma in 1926 to Shelby and Ruth Eddington. One of eight siblings, his sole surviving sibling is Winston Eddington of Dallas. Also surviving is Betty Posey, his long-time companion, as well as her children, grandchildren, his and her nieces, nephews in their extended families. Glenn grew up in Carter County and graduated from Zaneis High School in 1943. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the Army, became a paratrooper, and was slated to participate in the invasion of Japan when the war ended. After being discharged from the Army, Glenn graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Petroleum Geology degree. For years, Glenn had a successful practice as an independent geologist in Tulsa. He was highly respected by his peers for his skill, hard work, impeccable character and amiable personality. A man of many interests, Glenn enjoyed trout fishing, birding, weekend farming, world traveling, paleontology and, formerly, an occasional adult beverage. A memorial celebration is pending at a farm outside Seminole, Oklahoma.
