Obituary

Haskell Wadsworth lived a life marked by service, strength, hard work, and love for his family.

Throughout his life, Haskell proudly served his country in the United States Army for more than 20 years. His dedication to serving others continued at home, where he served his community as both Mayor and Chief of Police of Dewar, Oklahoma. These were only a few of the many accomplishments that made up a life well lived.

But Haskell was so much more than the titles he held or the uniform he wore.

He was a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a companion, and a man who found happiness in life's simple things. He loved gardening, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with the people he loved most.

For more than ten years, Haskell shared his life with his loving companion, Susie, in Council Hill, Oklahoma. Together they built a home and shared many years of love, companionship, and memories.

Haskell leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, including his daughter Lisa Love and her husband, Tony Love of Checotah, OK; his granddaughter Ashley Love and her boyfriend, Daniel Banano of Checotah, OK ; his great-grandsons, Brian Love and Madden Love; and his grandson Rusty Love of Henryetta, OK.

He was also lovingly known as Grandpa to Rowdy Roberts and Amanda Hall and Great-Grandpa to Amanda's three children, K.K. Fortenberry, Haley Fortenberry, and Caleb Fortenberry. Along with his beloved Susie, they were all part of the family and the many lives Haskell touched throughout his years.

Haskell accomplished many things during his lifetime, but perhaps his greatest legacy cannot be measured by years of service, positions held, or accomplishments earned.

His greatest legacy lives on in the people who loved him, the family he helped shape, the stories that will continue to be told, and the memories that will never fade.

Though we wish we could have had more time, we are grateful for the years we were given.

Rest easy, Grandpa.
Your work here is finished.
Your stories will be told.
Your memory will be carried forward.
And you will always, always be loved.
