Helen Regina Williams Jackson, was born May 22, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri and peacefully departed this world on December 24, 2023 at age 94.
Born to Eldridge Williams and Irene "Big Mama" Strickland, along with her seven siblings Ida Turner, Elisabeth Williams, Gilbert Williams, Lillian Smallwood, Charles Williams, Emmett Williams, Ernestine Hall, and Rufus Williams. Helen cherished the bonds of family and maintained a close-knit connection with her siblings throughout her life.
Helen graduated from Vashon High School and was united in matrimony July 6, 1951, Helen discovered her life companion in Samuel Burse Jackson known as "Bubble". Together, they cultivated a beautiful family, and Helen, with boundless love and care, embraced her role as a devoted and nurturing mother and stepmother to Charlotte Johnson, Deborah Jean, Judith Dorlene, and Ella Christina.
Helen found immeasurable joy in her role as a grandmother, showering affection on Keila Jackson Chambers, William Howard Norman Jr., Samuel Jackson, and Kirsten Buckner. Witnessing the blossoming of the next generations brought her immense
happiness, she embraced the role of great-grandmother to Ramez Daniels, Kalen Chambers, and Corben Chambers. Helen was truly blessed to witness the arrival of her great-great-grandson, Javon Anthony Chambers, a testament to the enduring legacy of love and family that she cultivated throughout her life.
Known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love, Aunt Helen became a guiding presence in the lives of numerous nieces and nephews. Her home was a haven, where no one left without feeling the embrace of family, the warmth of love, and the satisfaction of a full belly.
While Helen's role as a stay-at-home mother was significant, it went beyond the confines of her household. Instead, it ignited her fervor for community advocacy. A staunch believer in the influence of the vote, she actively engaged in local initiatives, dedicating herself tirelessly to empower those in her community.
As we bid farewell to Helen Regina Williams Jackson, we celebrate a life well-lived a life that touched countless others with grace, compassion, and unwavering commitment to family and community. Her memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
She is resting in eternal peace.
