Houston Leonard Davis Jr., loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the age of 73. Houston was born January 11, 1941 to Houston Leonard Davis, Sr., and Viola Marie (Ross) Davis in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mr. Davis was survived by his wife of fifty-three years Margarete Ann Davis; son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Chesley Davis of Norman; Three grandchildren: Taylor Hernandez, Kelsey Hernandez, and Abigail Davis all of Norman. Houston was preceded in death by daughter Ann Marie Davis. Houston was known to his nieces and nephews as "Uncle Bill" and was loved by all. As a resident of Broken Arrow for 38 years he was active as a band dad, youth baseball coach, and avid bowler. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a crew chief on C?54s and C119s during the Vietnam Conflict. While serving with the U.S. Air Force in Southeast Asia, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. Houston and his wife Margarete were very active in the dog show community in Oklahoma and the Southwest showing English Springer Spaniels at AKC events. Graveside memorial services are going to be Friday, July 18, 2014, 11:00am at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
