Howard C. Davis, age 92, died June 7, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Howard was born February 15, 1922 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Leonard and Jo Davis. Howard is survived by his wife Jo Dean of 70 years, daughter, Chris Hunnicutt, grandson Matthew Hunnicutt, and two sisters, Evelyn Roleu and Beverly Winn. Howard was a World War II Veteran. He as a naval ensign. His ship was involved in the battle of Leyte Gulf. He attended OSU, OU and Annapolis. He graduated from OSU in architecture after returning from the war. He and his wife moved to Muskogee in 1950 where he worked for 25 yrs at Zaroor and Davis architects. He was a deacon at Boulevard Christian Church as his faith was very important to him. Here are just a few of the buildings he designed in Muskogee: library, Tony Goetz, Grant Foreman, Victor Savings, Phoenix Federal, Manual Training High School, Dr. Hewitts house and office. Howard and Jo left Muskogee in 1975 and moved to Tulsa where he went to work as a consultant at Public Service Company. He helped turn Central High School into new PSO building, finally retiring at the age of 72. He as a devoted family man and will be greatly missed for his kindness, generosity and humor.
