James Michael "Jim" McManus, Jr., 86, passed away January 21, 2016. He was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma September 15, 1929 to James M., and Sylva R. Frere McManus. Jim attended high school at Subiaco Abbey and Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas, graduating in 1946. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant from 1946-1949, serving in Shanghai, China and Okinawa, Japan. He also served as a First Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge in 1958. Jim graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1960 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He worked for 35 years at PennWell Publishing, first as Manager of Sales for the NE Division based in New York City and then Publisher of the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Journal in Tulsa. Jim was an avid reader, lover of music, gourmet cook, dog lover and known for his rose garden which delighted his wife, Kristine, of 59 years. Jim was preceded in death by: his wife, Kristine Jean Farnsworth McManus; two sisters, Francis McManus and Elizabeth McManus; and brother, Edward McManus. Jim will be missed by: his four children, Cary S. McManus, Laury S. Circle, Shawn M. Guy and David F. McManus; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Jake Circle, Madison and Riley Guy, Katie and Olivia McManus and Emerson McManus.
