James Williams, 78, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he lived until the age of three before his family moved to Markle, Indiana. At the age of seven, they relocated again to Matthews, Indiana, where James graduated from Jefferson Township High School. He then attended Gem City Community College to study Jewelry Making, Clock, and Watch Repair.

At the age of 20, James married his lifelong soulmate, Sherry Justice, and together they built a home and family in Gaston, Indiana. As their family grew, they moved to Farmland, Indiana, purchasing a larger home to accommodate their needs. Eventually, James re-established his jewelry business and decided to relocate to the Tulsa area, drawn by its oil-based economy and the opportunity to complete his Bible training at Rhema Bible College. He later made his home in Broken Arrow, where all five of his children graduated from Broken Arrow High School.

James began his career as a resident jeweler at Roskins Jewelry Store in Marion, Indiana. To support his growing family, he transitioned into the Tool and Die industry in Muncie, Indiana, eventually becoming a manager overseeing build and delivery. Despite his work in manufacturing, he never lost his passion for jewelry making and began offering repair services to local jewelry stores. Over time, he took the leap into self-employment, opening his own jewelry business, Jewels By James, in Tulsa, where he worked until his passing.

James had an unwavering faith in Jesus and built his life upon that foundation. He generously donated his time and resources to his church and various charities. His jewelry store was more than a business—it was a ministry where he welcomed and counseled anyone in need, always eager to share his faith.

James earned an associate degree in Horology (watch and clock making and repair) and Jewelry Design and Repair from Gem City College in Quincy, Illinois, proudly calling himself a certified Horologist. After moving to Tulsa, he also attended Rhema Bible College, through which he became an ordained minister.

James had many passions, including basketball, football, golf, and singing. Golf was his favorite pastime, and he actively participated in choirs throughout the years. A talented handyman, he enjoyed remodeling rooms, laying tile floors, and refurbishing furniture. Additionally, he was a gifted artist who loved to draw and paint from a young age.

James' legacy of faith, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
