Janiece Reece, 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away June 3 rd, 2014 at her residence. She was born August 4, 1930 in Alva, OK. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a teaching degree. While she was a student there she met her husband of 61 years, Monroe F. Reece. She and Reece moved to Tulsa to raise their family, where she taught for Tulsa Public Schools at both Celia Clinton and Carnegie Elementary schools. Janiece was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir and loved participating in her Sunday school classes. Even in her last days Jan maintained her kind and gracious spirit and was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Reece, 2 daughters, Karen Allen and her husband Tom Renfro and Nancy Reece-Smith; grandchildren, Sean Allen and his wife Laura, Kelly McCollom and husband Trevor, Matthew Allen, Sunny Smith and Robin Smith. A memorial service took place on June 11 th, 2014 at the Asbury United Methodist Chapel, located at 6767 S. Mingo, Tulsa, OK. Internment will be held at the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
