IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jesse Homer
Brawner
February 5, 1941 – July 23, 2024
A life well lived. A celebration of our Dad's life, Jesse Brawner.
Born in the early 1940s, Dad's generation, many called "the greatest generation," and in many regards, we agree. Dad had to grow up fast and work hard for everything. Jesse Homer Brawner, was born to a large family, where he was the youngest.
Dad loved rabbit and dove hunting and fishing while growing up. Dad would take us fishing in the ponds and several times off the Galveston coast in Texas. We moved to NW Arkansas in 1978. Jesse was a draftsman by training and trade, until his retirement in the 1990s. He designed and built our home on Pinnacle Mountain where Jesse and Lois raised a family for the next 20 years. Mom and Dad moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, then to Springdale.
Dad's biggest thing in life was loving his family. Lois, was the love of his life. But his next big love was missionary work. Jesse and Lois went to Guyana and Russia several times. They helped to start a church in Trevere Russia. They smuggled, on their bodies, thousands of dollars. Mom said it was the only way to help them. God was always with them. Jesse always believed in helping where he could. Dad spent many years in the local jail ministries and brought hundreds of souls back to God. Dad taught us how to live right, and be better people. "Always do the right thing even if your the only one left doing it." Was something he would often say.
He lived life to the fullest, with a smile on his face. He fought a good fight and lived a good life. Jesse passed in his home, peacefully in his sleep on July 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lois Janette Brawner. Jesse leaves behind his Son, Mark Brawner wife, Jennifer. His daughter, Rebecca Folsom, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Jesse was loved by all, and will be missed greatly.
