Obituary

Jimmie Anderson Rowe, aka "Andy", was born October 5, 1948, and passed from this life on November 22, 2025. May he rest in peace.

Andy is survived by his wife and partner for over 40 years, Lynn Bartholomew-Rowe; his three sons, Howard Anderson Rowe, Cody Chapman Rowe and Michael Lee Judson Rowe; and three grandchildren; Abigail Scarlette Rowe, Michael Harley Rowe, and Katie Dakota Rowe. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jordan Scott Rowe. He loved his family dearly and if he had one regret, it was not enough time with those he loved.

Andy was born in Ada, Ok and spent most of his childhood in Abilene, Tx where he worked on horse ranches in his teen years, breaking broncs and participating in local rodeos. He then served in the Navy in Vietnam on the USS Comstock.

Andy's main career path was in the stimulation, completion and enhanced oil recovery sector of oil and gas which spanned thirty-five years. His employment history includes tenure with BJ Services, Nowsco Services, Smith Mining Tools, Smith Energy Services and Halliburton. He was co-founder, owner, director and Executive Vice President of Downhole Fluidics, Inc. (DFI), from January 2002 until the sale of the company in 2012. He represented fluidic oscillator technology in over 20 countries. In 2007 Andy was named to the "PTTC top 100" list of independents and individuals that the organization determined could give a very informed response to the U.S. Congress concerning the effectiveness of the DOE's oil and gas R&D program. In addition, Andy had an entrepreneurial mind and started several ventures including promotion of microbial enhanced recovery, MEOR, as a natural alternative to downhole recovery. Also, in an earlier endeavor, he started a subscription service which consolidated state and city government contracts for bid. This innovative idea was prior to the internet database explosion.

Andy loved the outdoors, particularly the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest where he spent much time in work and play. He loved to paint the rugged landscapes of the southwest showing the magnitude of the wide open and rugged spaces in brilliant colors. He often placed a lone cowboy with his horse seemingly in awe and silent contemplation before the expansive backdrop of mother nature. Andy was truly one of a kind; vibrant, sincere, and unforgettable. People were drawn to his warmth, his wisdom, and the way he made others feel seen and valued. His humor, courage, and remarkable resilience remained steadfast, even in his final journey. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.

To honor his life, please consider donating to the Alzheimer research foundation of your choice. Also, having suffered trauma and loss as a result of substance abuse, a donation to a substance abuse research or recovery organization would be an honor to his life, and promote healing in a society plagued by substance abuse.
