Joanne (Jo) Sullivan was born on Flag Day, June 14th 1963 and passed away March 1st 2022.
Jo was a life-long resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Tulsa Community College and received her Associates in Liberal Arts. She later attended Northeastern State University to receive her BA in English with a minor in Psychology. She received her certifications in Special Education, Elementary Education, and English Education. Jo was an inspiring and creative educator of gifted students in the Tulsa community for 20 years. She had a passion for teaching young children with autism and special needs.
Her prolific teaching ability was mirrored by her artistic endeavors. Jo was a curator for an international group of digital artists with her art showcasing around the world, including the Louvre. She was honored to have her works displayed at the Hardesty Arts Center (AHHA) gallery in downtown Tulsa, as well as a month-long display of her work at the Tulsa Artist Coalition gallery (TAC).
Her life will be remembered through the countless connections she made with students, artists, friends, and family as well as her mantra of "Imagine, peace, love".
Jo was preceded in death by her younger brother Patrick Foad Miller and Godmother Aunt Mary Slyman.
She is survived by her son James Edward Sullivan and daughter Anna Rose Sullivan, and her daughter-in-law Caleigh Sullivan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as her parents Rosanne Miller and Curt Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jo was insistent on a party after her passing, her celebration of life will be held at BKL Inc. (1623 E 6th St. in Tulsa, OK) on Saturday, April 23rd from 4-7pm.
