Jon Walter Hockenson was born in Tulsa, OK on July 16, 1942. He died at home in Tulsa March 2, 2024, at 81 years of age.

Preceded in death by father Ralph A. Hockenson, mother Eleanor J. Hockenson and sister Carol Wilson.

Jon is a member of St. John Episcopal Church.

Jon attended Edison High School and graduated from Tulsa University with a bachelor's degree. He served in the United States Navy, where he was a member of the Navy Golf team in Guam. Jon enjoyed the game of golf throughout his life.

Jon retired from the automotive industry after owning a Goodyear Tire Center and working for Firestone and T&W Tire.

Jon is survived by his wife, Marvin F. Hockenson, daughter Meridith Coyne married to Jeff Coyne, son Andrew Hockenson with Janie Stroud Proctor; two grandchildren Parker and Carter Coyne, and sister Phyllis Powell.

Jon is a member of the Delta Omega Chapter of Sigma Chi. Jon's grandsons are both members of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Oklahoma.

Jon was an auto racing enthusiast and was a spectator of both the Indy 500 and U.S. Grand Prix Formula 1. Jon's love of racing resulted in a lifelong journey with his son Drew, starting him into Go Kart racing at an early age. That journey culminated through his son Drew who has established a successful career in the racing industry.
