Joshua Ken McCorkle, age 56, of Jenks passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Josh was a 1981 graduate of Jenks High School and a 1986 graduate of Tulsa University. After receiving an accounting degree from TU, Josh began his career at Jenks City Hall in 1993 and was the finance director of the City of Jenks from 2006 to the present. Josh worked hard all his life. He began an early career at the age of 14 helping his parents deliver Tulsa World newspapers to the city of Jenks. He continued to deliver newspapers all through his college career, and always took very good care of his family. Josh had a great sense of humor and always made family gatherings fun. He loved movies, basketball, and collecting comic books. Josh's greatest joy was raising his son, Kyle, and watching him grow into a wonderful young man. Much of his time was spent working because he loved his job, and he truly cared for the people he worked with. At his passing, Josh was surrounded by family who loved him dearly. Josh was preceded in death by his father, Jack McCorkle. Survivors include: his son, Kyle Rice; mother, Robbie McCorkle; sisters and brother-in-laws, Joy and J.R. Miller, Rana and Steve Montgomery, Jennifer and Tim Carey; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Jenks City Hall Council Chambers at 211 North Elm Street in Jenks.
