Juanita Cody, age 84, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021 at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with family at her side. A private family celebration of Juanita's life will be held Saturday, July 24, in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Juanita was born in California on January 14, 1937. She married Andrew William "Bill" Cody in 1955, and they were married for 59 years before Bill's death in 2014. Through the years, Juanita lived in various states including California, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Texas, returning to Claremore, Oklahoma in 2010 to live near family. She enjoyed reading, singing, cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, crafting, and painting. She was also a grateful tribal citizen of the Cherokee Nation. Juanita is survived by her brother Hurley Hughes (Paula), her daughter Cindy Wilson and her son Joel Cody (Michelle); four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, four nieces, and three nephews. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Beulah Hughes, her husband Andrew William "Bill" Cody, and her son William Ronald "Bill" Cody.
