Obituary

Judith "Judy" Ann Christensen, 65, of Tulsa, OK, passed peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on August 10, 1951 to Basil and Ruth Wicker, Judy was the second of four children. She grew up in DePere, WI spending many hours of her childhood at Legion park where during the winters she aspired to be a professional ice skater. She met the love of her life when she was in the eighth grade at St. Marys school. Judy and Bruce were married in 1969, the same year she graduated from East DePere High School. They recently celebrated 51 years of love and 47 years of marriage. Judy, Bruce, and their three children; moved to Tulsa in 1981, where Judy would later become a graduate of Victory Bible Institute. She loved the Lord and always had strong faith in Jesus and the hand of God. She was a self-less angel to so many, serving the underserved through her work at a variety of places and organizations. She made it a point to live as Jesus would have lived and spread hope and optimism wherever and whenever possible. Judy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bruce Gordon Christensen; son, Bradley Joseph Christensen; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Renee and Rodney Gene Fellinger; and son, Aaron Thomas Christensen; all residents of Tulsa. Her surviving siblings include sisters Elizabeth "Betty" (Tim) Sullivan and Jean (Dale) Vercauteren and brother Joseph (Colleen)Wicker, brother-in-law Curt (Sandy) Christensen and sister-in-law Terry Kubiak. She is survived also by nieces and nephews Jeff, Jason, Amy, Katie, Daniel, Heather, Corey and David; as well as several grand nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends in Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Colorado, California, Ohio, and Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents Basil and Ruth, Bruces parents Gordy and Max, and a beloved nephew Brian. Her surviving grand fur-babies include Coach and Sophie Fellinger, Basil Gordon Cordova, and Lacy Christensen. A memorial service is planned for Monday, September 5, 3:00 p.m. at Restoration Church, 732 S 145th E AVE in Tulsa. One of Judys favorite quotes from the Bible she liked to use in difficult situations is from Mark 4:39, "...Peace, be still!" For Judy, the wind calmed and she is at peace.
