Longtime Ponca City resident Julie J. Marazas died Friday, May 16, 2014 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Julie was born on April 3, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Harold and Pearl Togersen. On July 9, 1964, she married Tom Marazas. They made their first home in Baltimore until 1973 when Tom transferred with Conoco to Ponca City. Julie worked as a department manager for WalMart prior to her retirement in 1996. She was a talented artist, and loved to paint and draw. Leather tooling was a favorite hobby of Julies, and she made many beautiful belts for friends and family. Julie loved collecting porcelain dolls, Beanie Babies, and Native American art were a few of her favorite collections. Julie is survived by three sons, Michael Marazas (and wife Deena) and Mark Marazas (and wife Stephanie) of Ponca City; and Chad Marazas (and wife Amy) of Bixby. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Courtney, Jamie, T.J., Sarah, Emily, Corey, Ashlynn and Ryan. Also 4 great-grandchildren; Izaiah, Mason, James and Isabella. She is also survived by a sister Betty Jane Gillyard and brother Einar Peterson. Julie was preceded in death by her husband Tom, and her parents. The family invites friends to a Memorial Reception in Julies honor, to be held at the American Legion, 407 W. South Ave., on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 4:00 5:30. A family graveside service will be held Thursday at 6:00 at Longwood Cemetery.
