Kathleen 'Kathy' (Kunkel) Wilber, of Owasso, passed away Friday, May 10th at home, with family at her side after a long struggle with cancer. She was 65 years old. Kathy was born on January 20, 1948 in Utica, NY. In 1970, she met Stanley H. Wilber, Jr., and the two were married on May 27, 1972. Stanley's job with ATT took them from Utica to Joplin, MO and later to Owasso, OK. Kathy lived for others, and made it her life's work to help, be it her family, friends, her customers at the insurance agency, and other patients she met while receiving cancer treatment. She was employed with Bill McComb Insurance Agent for nineteen years in Owasso. Kathy was a long time member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso and her deep faith guided her throughout her journey. Kathy is survived by her husband, Stanley H. Wilber of Owasso, her daughter Sarah (Wilber) Edwards and son in law Dwight Edwards of Moore, her son Michael Wilber of Owasso, her sister Karen (Kunkel) Moldt of Utica, NY, her brother Lee Kunkel of Burlington, VT and her sister Lorri (Kunkel) George of Pittsburgh, PA. Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Leroy Kunkel and her mother, Eleanor (McCabe) Kunkel. Memorial service 11:00am, Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso.
