Kay Ann McKenzie, aged 86, passed away on July 17, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on March 12, 1938, in Okemah, Oklahoma.
Kay, affectionately known as KK by her grandchildren, was a beacon of happiness and friendliness. Her passions included traveling, reading, drawing, painting, and decorating. She had an exceptional knack for remembering special occasions, always ensuring to gift thoughtfully on birthdays and anniversaries. A social butterfly, Kay cherished conversations and making new friends, deeply valuing each personal connection she made.
A lifelong animal lover, Kay cared for many pets over the years, including dogs, a Siamese cat, and various birds, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Kay is survived by her loving family: sons Ted Davie and wife Vikki , Tim Davie and wife Anne, Charles McSoud and wife Christian; grandchildren Joshua McSoud, Jacob McSoud, Connor McSoud, Elizabeth Davie and husband Michael, Jennie Gibbs and husband Caleb, and ; great-granddaughter Lynnlee Gibbs; niece Michelle Stenslie and husband Aaron; nephews Dale Lee McKenzie and wife Pat and John Steven McKenzie; sister-in-law Ann McKenzie; along with numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents Doc Lee and Clara McKenzie, brothers Dale and Don McKenzie, Niece Debbie McKenzie Gloria and sister-in-law Desiree Ira McKenzie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 31, 2024, honoring Kay's memorable and love-filled life. The Cremation Society of Oklahoma in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is assisting with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, a cause close to Kay's heart. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for life will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
