Kenneth "Ken" Lee Roberts, 76, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021 in Tulsa, OK while surrounded by many loving family members and friends. Ken was born in Norman, OK to James J. and Mary E. Roberts on September 11, 1944. He attended Norman schools from grade school through high school. He played basketball in high school and was an avid football and Sooner fan! Ken began his professional career in the banking industry where he worked his way up the ranks from bill collector to bank executive. After several years of company transfers and moving about the states, Ken moved to Tulsa from St. Louis, MO. In the early 2000's he worked as head of security for American Airlines before retiring in 2017. He was honored for developing and implementing a security system that is still carried out at most American Airline locations to date. After retiring from American Airlines, and not wanting to sit at home, Ken began working at Verizon as an Electronic Security Panel Operator before retiring from there in March of 2021. Ken loved his family and friends dearly. His grandchildren were his heart. He is survived by his son, Craig Roberts, and his wife, Jill along with their children, Ashley, Anna, and Caleb; his daughter Julie Roberts Shaw and her children Lauren and Evan; his brother Neal and sister-in-law Betty; sister Diane Brindley; brother Alan and sister in law Bette "Betts"; sister Vicki Herman; partner and best friend Andrae Hammond; along with nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; a host of great friends with a special shout out to Steven, Brandon, Randy, Dustin, Dre', Bob Boyes and Larry. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Roberts, his brother Randy Roberts, his nephew David Brindley; and brother-in-law Dennis Brindley. Ken will be greatly cherished and missed!
