Kerry Gene Stephens, 62, was born in Heber Springs, Cleburne County, Arkansas on December 11, 1950 and died peacefully on July 7, 2013 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his mother, Modena Stephens; sister and her husband Bill and Diane Goodin; niece Karie and her husband Tomas Barrett; nephew Kevin and his wife Jennifer Goodin; great nephews: Austin and wife Lindy Goodin, Ryan Goodin, Zak Masingale, and Blake Barrett; foster brother Gene Jester and his son Troy Jester, all from Tulsa. Kerry Gene Stephens has been a Tulsa Area resident for 20 years. He spent his early childhood in Houston, Texas. He was a gifted vocalist, ballroom dancer, artist and sculptor, and Arabian Horse breeder. His long journey with cancer was over July 7, 2013, and he is now with the Lord. Kerry will be missed and will live in our hearts always. A small family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Francis hospital and in the ER who admitted him and especially social worker, Lisa, for securing his placement at Clarehouse. We also want to thank the staff at Clarehouse for their compassionate care of our loved one and for their guidance and support for us throughout his care and passing.
