It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Gene McCombs, born January 5, 1949, in El Paso, Texas. Larry departed this life on September 26, 2024, at the age of 75. Larry was a devoted husband to May, with whom he celebrated over 50 years of marriage, having married on October 30, 1973. Together, they built a loving home filled with warmth and laughter.

He was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, earning numerous honors for his service, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. His life was devoted to providing for his family as a welder and truck driver, roles he embraced with dedication and pride.

Larry battled cancer courageously for three years, ultimately losing his second fight in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his beloved family and pets—just as he always wished.

He leaves behind a cherished legacy of love and family, including his children: Lisa, Stephanie, Erin, Matt, Anne, and Katy. Larry was a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by his presence and guidance.

A wake will be held at the family home on Thursday, October 3, 2024, for close family and friends to gather and honor Larry's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any Veterans Organization of your choice.

Larry will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
