Larry R. Norton, 74 years old, Tulsa, OK passed away April 14, 2016. Larry Norton was born on June 13, 1941 in Garrett, Indiana. He was the first child, and first son of Esther and E.L. Norton. In his early years, Larry helped with his family's lumber business, there he learned to drive a Caterpillar tractor at the age of 14. After high school, he continued to work for the family business. He signed up for basic training in the Marine Corps and spent most of his time in the Marine Corps Reserves. He met his wife, June in McAlester, OK while in the Reserves. They married in Erie, Pennsylvania. His job as an Ironworker brought Larry and his family to Kansas where he spent many years building Jeffrey Energy Center in St. Mary's, Kansas. They settled in Belvue, Kansas. Larry enjoyed his farm where he took pride with his crops and livestock. Eventually, his job as an Ironworker took him to various parts of the United States. During this time, Larry and June began traveling with their camper and would enjoy going on weekend excursions to small towns or to see friends and family. He loved to go fishing or to play the card game, Pitch. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1999. Larry was preceded in death by his father, E.L. Norton and his mother, Esther Norton. Survivors include his wife: June Norton; daughters: Mary Ornelas and Husband, Duncan, Stacie Edwards and Husband, David; grandchildren: Emily, Camden, Camille; siblings: Eston, Garry, Ron, Brenda, Richard, and Gale. A Rosary will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
