In Loving Memory of Laurie Danean Hignite

September 17, 1964 – June 2, 2025

Age 60, of Hominy, Oklahoma

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Laurie Danean Hignite, who peacefully left this world on June 2, 2025, at 9:29 AM at Clarehouse of Tulsa. Laurie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her vibrant spirit and deep love for her family. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Spavinaw Creek, Spavinaw, Oklahoma.

Laurie was born on September 17, 1964, to Norma Lea McAllister (Philbrick) of Oklahoma City and Paul McAllister of Wyoming. She was raised with love and joy, always showing a free-spirited and adventurous side that endeared her to all who knew her.

Laurie had a passion for the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed fishing by the water, curling up with a good book, and spending time in the great outdoors, especially camping and horseback riding. Music and dancing brought her pure joy, but nothing compared to the love she had for her family. Laurie's greatest treasures in life were her children and grandchildren. Her heart was full of warmth and pride as a mother, Nana, and loving matriarch.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Philbrick, her father, Paul McAllister, and her stepfather, Gary Philbrick. Laurie was also welcomed into heaven by her beloved siblings, Curtis McAllister and Catherine Herrain, as well as six cherished grandchildren: Jesse Blanton, Hailey Blanton, Olivia Blanton, KJ Damron, Kylie Grace, and Vaeh Lea Philbrick.

Karla Damron of McAlester, Oklahoma

Kelly and Blake Ingram of Cleveland, Oklahoma

Dustin and Allison Damron of Tulsa, Oklahoma

Alyssa and Ethan Woodall of Shawnee, Oklahoma

Faith and Kevin Sappington of Pryor, Oklahoma

Denay and Darvin Gore of Milton, Florida (heart-adopted daughter and son-in-law)

Her grandchildren include:

Britany Blanton, Kati Gore, Colton Drummond, Raegan and Parker Ingram, Kaci and Jace Philbrick, Aniyah Damron, and a grandchild on the way, Baby Girl Woodall, due January 2026 and one great grandson Karson Blanton.

Laurie also leaves behind her siblings:

Travis Philbrick,

Steve and Sara Van Horn,

Stephanie and Darrell Bryan,

along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews scattered across the United States.

Though Laurie's physical presence is no longer with us, her love, laughter, and light will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
