LaVaughna May Wadley was born at home February 26, 1933 in Creek County, Oklahoma to William Clyde and Mary Magdalene Wadley. She was the 4th of 5 children born to this union. Known to her family as 'sis', she attended grade school at Barron Fork, Oklahoma country school up to 6th grade, and earned her G.E.D. at a later time. She entered early in marriage to James Thomas Embrey on February 6, 1948 and was kept busy raising her family of 6 children. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in June of 1957 in Ft. Worth, Texas and attended the congregation in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was an avid reader, (she enjoyed reading the dictionary and Aid Book from cover to cover), and was a good seamstress, a craft she learned from her maternal grandmother. After her children were grown, she graduated at the top of the class from Truck Driving School in Ponca City, Oklahoma, serving 20 years as a long-haul, solo driver, which she enjoyed very much. After retiring, she worked part-time as driver of the City Bus, Tour Bus, and Medical Supply vehicle between Muskogee and Oklahoma City daily. When her health declined, she enjoyed listening in to the meetings on our phone line. Her parents, siblings and one child preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Connie Clayton (Adolph), Monty Beaty (Jan), Jerry Embry (Joan), Jodi Anderson (Paul) and Toni Simon; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, a sister-in-law, Joyce Wadley, a brother-in-law, James Collins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
