Lawrence Jay New (Larry) departed Tulsa March 15 on his final flight. Born 9/30/38 in Canastota, NY, Larry served 20 years in the US Air Force. Then he moved to Tulsa to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics, obtaining his AP certification, as well as numerous additional certifications including flight instructor, mechanic, and certifications for a number of specialized airplanes. Larry was active in the Tulsa aviation community and participated in air shows in Oklahoma, Oshkosh, Wisconsin and numerous other cities. He was also an experienced sailor, and an enthusiastic member of Oklahoma Territory Single Action Shooters Society. He is fondly remembered by family, friends and Linda.
