Obituary

Born on November 5, 1948, in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Linda graced this world with her boundless energy and compassionate spirit. On June 1, 2026, after a short illness, she peacefully entered heaven, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever remain in our hearts.

Linda was the daughter of Clark and Margaret McKisick, whom she has now joined in eternal rest. Linda's life was a testament to the values of compassion, service, and deep-rooted faith.

A proud graduate of East Central High School in Tulsa, Linda continued her journey of learning at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, where she graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Her passion for learning was only surpassed by her love for people, a quality that saw her excel in diverse roles throughout her career. From managing Women's World in Tulsa, customer service at KB Toys and Lowes, to her heartfelt work with St. John's Home Health and Hospice, Linda's careers were a reflection of her dedication to serve and her innate ability to connect with others. Perhaps her most cherished role was that of "keeper of the granddaughter," a title that brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

Her life's journey was intertwined with the Evangelical United Brethren Church, which later merged with the Methodist Church in 1968. Most recently, Linda was a devoted member of First Methodist Claremore, where she was a beacon of kindness and faith. Linda's spiritual path was illuminated by her active participation in Walk to Emmaus in Tulsa, where she often shared her wisdom with others. Her involvement in small groups, prayer circles at St. Marks UMC in Tulsa, and her ladies group in Oologah were a testament to her unwavering faith and her desire to uplift those around her.

Her hobbies were as varied as they were passionate. Linda had an affection for sewing, reading, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia; a testament to her appreciation of the simple joys in life. Above all, she loved Jesus and people. Her bright smile could light up any room, and her genuine ability to talk to anyone made everyone feel special and valued.

Linda is survived by her loving daughter, Davalyn Terwort and Keith Sparks of Claremore, Oklahoma, and her cherished granddaughter, Laryn Dejarnett, of Claremore, Oklahoma, who was the light of her life. She also leaves behind her brother, Douglas McKisick and wife Debbie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her best friend Nancy Heaton-Schmidt and husband Roger of Oswego, IL, her church family, and countless cousins and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to their church family for their unwavering support and to Trinity Hospice for the exceptional care Linda received in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Claremore First Methodist Church, specifically to the "Next Step 2030" memorial fund in Linda's memory.
