Lois Mae Shamas, 79, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on August 22, 2025 at 10:04pm. Lois was born on March 9, 1964 in Bristow, Oklahoma.
Lois was the oldest of four children and grew up in Bristow, graduating from Bristow High School in 1954. After high school, she became an Air Force wife, a journey that allowed her to live in many places around the world and experience life in unique and memorable ways. Eventually, she and her family returned home to Bristow, where she began a decades-long career at Spirit Bank. She was a dedicated and well-loved employee, known for her kindness and her joy in serving the community. She was an avid sports fan and devoted much of her time to coaching the sports teamsnof both her children and grandchildred, always a faithful precense on the sidelines. She also had a playful spirit, most evident in her love for Halloween. Each year, she dressed up in costume and delighted in handing out candy to the schoolchildren who stopped by the bank. Her life was marked by love for family, loyalty to friends, and dedication to her community. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, encouragment, and cherished memories that will live on through all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Edna Penn, and her sister, Linda Peterson.
She is survived by her brothers Larry(Katie)Penn and Leroy(Kathy)Penn; her children Susan(Tony) Laughrun, David Shamas, Teresa(John)Thompson; her grandchildren Austin Terhune, Brittany(Brandon)Penner, Bethany(Jordan)Riddle, Lauren Shamas, Maya Shamas, Tre Thompson, Emma Thompson; and her great grandchildren Lexi and Abby Riddle, Charlotte Neal, and Leo Penner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
