IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lonnie Ray
Smith
June 25, 1949 – November 28, 2025
Lonnie Ray Smith, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud U.S. Army veteran, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 76 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Born on June 25, 1949, in Adair, Oklahoma, Lonnie was raised in Pryor, where he graduated from Pryor High School. It was there he met and married his high school sweetheart, Tressa Marie Madole, the enduring love of his life.
Following his marriage, Lonnie honorably served his country as an E4 Specialist in the U.S. Army, completing a tour in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he began his career with the Pryor Street Department before becoming a licensed electrician, wiring many homes in the local area. He eventually found his professional home at Phillips Driscopipe, where he worked until his retirement.
In his free time, Lonnie was known for being a true neighbor, always ready to lend a hand to those in need and without question. He enjoyed creating cement statues and figures, tinkering and always up for a challenge to fix things. He had a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren. He brought smiles and laughter to those around him, always making light of things. Lonnie enjoyed simple pleasures, such as spending his time picking pecans and sharing stories with his friends at Sandusky's.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tressa Madole Smith; multiple brothers and sisters; and many in-laws. He loved his wife fiercely up until his final day.
He is survived by his three devoted children: Adam Smith and his wife, April; Daniel Smith and his wife, Birgit; and Marci Bickford and her husband, Henry. He leaves behind the legacy of eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his two brothers, William Smith and Walter Smith, and his sister, Angie.
A private family service will be held to honor and celebrate Lonnie's life.
