Obituary

Luther Kay "Toby" Grisso, 73, died on June 11, 2018 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Marilyn "Lovejoy" Grisso, as well as his daughters, Laura Grisso (Craig Eyster) and Rachel White (Kendall); grandsons Nathan and Patrick White; sisters Glenda Barber and Alice Coffman; and brothers Al Grisso and Ron Grisso. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Grisso and Marie (McCulloch) Pearce, and his sister, Ramona King. Toby was born on October 8, 1944 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He grew up in the American Legion Childrens Home in Ponca City and upon high school graduation joined the Air Force, serving as a computer analyst with the rank of Sergeant in Japan during the Vietnam War. Following military service, he spent most of his career working as an investigator for the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System in Norman. He was a true public servant with a deep love and compassion for others, even those who are the hardest to love. In addition to his career working with inmates on death row, he more recently volunteered to serve communion at a local prison. Tobys final message to us all was to remember "we are one with God, and God is one with us," and "we should love one another as God loves us." The family would like to extend a special thanks to The Journey Home and to family friends, Fr. Daigle, Fr. Donovan, Fr. Jose, Mark Barrett, Debbie Eric Shauberg, Theresa Hampton, Patti Ghezzi, and Susan Grisso. Funeral services to take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1314 Lynn Ave, Pawhuska, OK at 10:00 am on Monday, June 18th. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Journey Home (www.thejourneyhomeok.com/financial-support).
