Obituary

Margery Lynette (Hendry) Grady, a homemaker, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Lynette was born June 23, 1924, in Amite, Louisiana, to Basil Earl and Clotilde Marie (Stanfill) Hendry. She was 89 years old. Lynette was raised in Baton Rouge and attended LSU. She married the love of her life Guido in 1945. Together 61 years, they settled in Tulsa in 1952 to raise their family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Lynette volunteered at the Tulsa Red Cross, Bishop Kelley High School, as a Girl Scout Leader, and as Sacristan for Madalene Church. In 1973, the Gradys retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas where she was actively involved in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, and many other volunteer organizations in her community. Lynette was multi-talentedplayed golf, competitive tennis, and excelled at sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and quilting. Her other interests included tap-dancing, clogging, painting, and gardening. She is survived by sisters: Patricia Jacob and Tickie Guidry and husband Lee of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son: Mike Grady of Tulsa; daughters: Patty Doublin and husband Gary of Edmond, Oklahoma, Maureen Bolton and husband Darrell of Tulsa, Peggy Grady of Oklahoma City, and Terry Wren and husband Doug of Tulsa; grandchildren: Michelle Gray, Jason Bolton and wife Lana, Carrie Chapman and husband Jayson, Derek Doublin, Daniel Doublin and wife Brianne, Ashley Chandler and husband Jameson, and Josh Wren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Lynette was preceded in death by her husband Guido O. Grady. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, August 16, 2013, 6:00 pm, at Franciscan Villa Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 295 Balearic Road, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, 71909.
