Marion Neal Borin was born in Sallisaw, OK on September 1, 1940, to William and Lois Borin. Neal passed away in Broken Arrow, OK on June 13, 2026.
Neal, known as “Pug” to his family and lifelong friends, graduated from Poteau High School in 1958 where he played football and baseball.
While working in a butcher shop in 1962, he met his future wife, Ernestine “Tina” Evans. After dating about a month, Neal proposed and they were married June 29, 1963. They enjoyed nearly 56 years together, building a wonderful life, raising two girls, and welcoming 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Neal spent his life working as an electrician but after retirement, he found a love of woodworking, making several pieces of furniture that are still being used today. He also had a love of sports, specifically football and softball. During the months of May and June, you could almost guarantee to walk in and find an OU softball game on the television.
Neal and Tina owned, bred, and trained numerous Shelties. Neal was passionate about obedience training and could often be found in the backyard working with one dog after another, teaching jumps, retrieving dumbbells, and perfecting obedience routines. The dogs brought him endless joy, and he built strong bonds with them through trust, consistency, and love.
Neal is preceded in death by his wife, Tina Borin; his parents William and Lois Borin; and older brothers Gene, Bobby, and Darrell Borin. Neal leaves behind his two daughters, Dana Lynn Forrest and husband Gregory Nelson and Stacy Deann Thoma and husband Chris Thoma; grandchildren, Alex Forrest and wife Alissa, Ashley Caballero, Kaitlyn Thoma, and Matthew Thoma; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Mike Copeland, sister Connie Dodd; and countless nieces and nephews.
While our hearts are broken by his absence, we find peace in knowing that he is once again with the love of his life, reunited after too many years apart.
