Malinda Lucille Payne, 89, of Tulsa passed away on June 15, 2015. She was born October 5, 1925 in Marshall, OK to Henry and Marie Grassmann. She was the youngest of 14 children and was known as "Lindy" to her siblings. Malinda attended Marshall Public Schools before receiving a Registered Nurse degree at Wesley Nursing School in OKC. Malindas career included public health, doctors office nursing, nursing home floor management and hospice nurse volunteer. She also co-owned and operated Shagbark Recreational Ranch in Bunch, OK. In 1961, she married John C. (Jack) Payne, remaining married until his death in 1996. Preceding her in death are husband, Jack and granddaughter, Amy Rae Renegar. Survivors include son, Randel Renegar and wife Kathi of Tulsa; daughter, Amy (Renegar) Powell and husband Randy of Dallas; son, Brian Renegar and wife Theresa of McAlester; daughter, Jane Allen and husband Ray of Ada; son, Tim Payne and wife Dana of Muskogee; son, Tom Payne of Edmond; stepdaughter, Carey Van Sickle and husband Gregg of Topeka; and stepson, Mark Payne and wife Shirley of Houston. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Malinda truly adored her family, especially her grandkids. She loved to fish, can, sew, garden, cook (well known for her baking prowess), and enjoyed hosting "grandkids week" each spring. A celebration of Malindas life will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday July 11, 2015 at Southeast Baptist Church in Muskogee. A private family interment service is planned at Cookson Proctor Cemetery.
