Margaret Joan Allen "Joanie", 82, of Tulsa, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, after living a full and wonderful life. Joanie was born January 1, 1936, in Tulsa, OK, to the late Elizabeth and John Byers. She was preceded in death by her siblings Elizabeth Sigler, Susie Greenwood, and John Byers, and her son, Brian Allen. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Frederick Brian Allen "Freddy", children: Linda Jones and husband Chris of Owasso, OK, Jean Ehmke and husband Brent of Raleigh, NC, sister Mary Jane Arrington of Wichita, TX, grandchildren: Shanon Allen, Curtis Allen, Andrew Allen, Todd Jones, Jerra Sibray, Kari Aube, Kevin Marshall, Andrew Ehmke, and Rebecca Morello. Soon after graduating from Central High School, Joanie married her sweetheart Freddy. They started their family and she was a homemaker and mother. In the early 1960s she decided to go to beauty school and opened her own salon at her home which she ran while still handling three active children. Joanie was also a talented artist who enjoyed square dancing. She combined those two things when she started another business called Circle Left that provided beautiful hand painted square dance clothing and accessories. She later developed her skills in china painting creating lovely works and winning many blue ribbons. She also served as the president of the Tulsa China Painters Club. She loved to go on road trips with Fred and was always there for her family. Services will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 10:00 AM at Butler-Stumpff Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 East Third Street, Tulsa, OK 74104.
