Maxine passed away early August 15, 2012, with her loving children beside her. Maxine, a.k.a. Julia May Piscotti, was a wife, grandmother, sister to 9 siblings, accountant, office manager, purchasing agent, seamstress, carpenter, farmer, cat/ dog/rabbit/skunk rescuer, upholsterer, dry wall finisher, saloon singer, and world's best mother. Maxine was born September 27, 1934, to Marion and Verna Knephoff Powell in Kansas City, MO. She married James S. Evans, Jr., (J.S) on October 30 1953. J. S. preceded her in death, January 6, 1976. Maxine is survived by her children, Karen Lee Evans, of Tulsa, and Duane Jay Evans and his wife Judy of Owasso, and her grandchildren Christine Kersey Evans and James Sterling Evans. She will also be missed by her good friend Thomas Doty, her siblings and a multitude of adoring nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Good Shepherd Hospice who gave gentle care and support to the family and Maxine in her last days. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, www.goodshepherdhospices.com. A private family memorial service will be scheduled for a future date in Kansas City.
