Obituary

Mark passed away unexpectedly at his family's home in Tulsa on January 8, 2025. Mark had a truly unique spirit and was a devoted father, son, brother and friend. He had a strong Catholic faith and fiercely demonstrated his beliefs and values in his personal and business affairs. He was a leader serving as President of the Union High Class of 1995. He attended the University of Texas and began his career in developing Security Software.

He is survived by his daughters Ava Blair, and Theodora Val, parents Richard and Paulette Obrecht, brothers Ken (Laurie), Jeff (Kelly) and Tom (Melanie). He is also survived by his nephews Paul, Daniel, Matthew, Anthony and Conley.

Mark was the Founder and CEO of Six Engines, a Cybersecurity Software company in Austin and was also the founder of Whole Security and Ziften. He was an elite mathematician and held over 20 patents. He absorbed as much knowledge as he could and used his talents to create a safer world.

Mark loved baseball and was an avid Houston Astros fan and attended games in every MLB Park. He also loved professional tennis, was a big fan of Roger Federer and attended all the Tennis Grand Slam Tournaments. His travels took him all over the world and he absorbed and appreciated every city and country.

Mark adored his daughters Blair and Teddy who were his greatest love. He was exceptionally loyal to his family, friends and classmates encouraging everyone to maintain close relationships. He loved people, and they loved him.
