Michael Anthony "Tony" Doyle

Tony Doyle, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family.

Tony was born to William Joseph Jr. and Sue Chronister Doyle in Tulsa. He attended Eliot Elementary and Cascia Hall Preparatory School before graduating from Edison High School in 1960. He went on to earn a degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and served in the Air National Guard. He married Claudia Kates, a fellow Tulsan, in 1966.

Their adventure began in New York City, where Tony built an exciting advertising career at Benton & Bowles. His memorable work included campaigns featuring the King Family Singers, Betty White, the colorful Yogi Berra, and the famous “Please don’t squeeze the Charmin!” commercials. Following the birth of their son, Philip Anthony, in 1972, Tony and Claudia returned home to Tulsa. In 1976, their daughter, Bridget Joann “Brydie,” was born, and later Tony launched his own firm, Brown, Doyle & Associates.

Affectionately known as “Tool Man Tony,” he could build or fix just about anything. He loved his dogs, possessed an easy warmth, and had a gift for conversation that let him connect with anyone. Above all, his children will remember him simply as “just a really good dude.”

Tony is survived by his wife, Claudia Doyle; his children, Philip (Susan) Doyle of Tulsa and Bridget “Brydie” Isley of Apollo Beach, Florida; and his grandchildren, Jacob Edens, Chip Isley, and Sparrow and Starling Jaris. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, William Joseph “Bill” Doyle III.
