Michael Lynn Whittenburg was born to Nolen Whittenburg & Peggy Stottlemyre Whittenburg of Sand Springs Oklahoma on November 15, 1950. He passed to his heavenly home on February 14, 2020 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Michael graduated from Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, then enlisted in the US Navy where he served as a medic. After serving his country, Michael worked for Ford Glass for over 30 years before retiring.
He loved country music & dancing. But most of all he loved his family & friends.
Michael is survived by his mother, Peggy Roby (Al) of Tulsa, a daughter, Jill Grider (Michael) of Broken Arrow, a son Paul Whittenburg (Hannah) of Collinsville, his grandchildren, Hadley & Kaysen Whittenburg & Olivia Grider. He is also survived by a brother Nolen Whittenburg of Sand Springs, a sister Libby Jimison Bohr (Greg) of Independence KS, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Nolen Whittenburg, Sr.
The service is scheduled for Wednesday at 11AM at St Marks United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to ClareHouse in Tulsa or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
