Obituary

Milan Paul Morgan made a peaceful transition from this life to the next on February 9th, 2022. Born in Enid, Oklahoma April 24, 1953, he attended Enid schools and graduated from EHS in 1971. His career endeavors covered a wide range, from food service and restaurant work to construction, carpentry, heating and air conditioning and machine shop maintenance. Milan traveled the country from California to Florida, but always came back home to Oklahoma. He lived and worked for several years in both Tulsa and Grove, but 'retired' in his hometown of Enid. Over the years he often found himself working in conjunction with his younger brother in the same companies. And when his mother and older brother passed away, Milan moved to Sand Springs to step in and provide his dad with assistance. He enjoyed refinishing pieces of furniture and creating smaller items, like playing-card holders and squirrel feeders, for family members. One of his proudest accomplishments was building a complete set of kitchen cabinets with a matching, free-standing hutch for his mom. He also helped his brothers with construction in creating additions to family property. Milan faced many challenges in his life. In 2001 he 'died' for 13 minutes....a fascinating story he retold often. But it was an episode that left him physically weakened. He was soon living a limited work life. Later, in 2014, he suffered a stroke, creating even more physical limitations for him. Milan always loved telling a good joke and was very clever with one-liners. His sense of humor kept family and friends in stitches. He was valued at Morgan get-togethers and much appreciated by the younger generation of nieces and nephews. He often ate at the 'kids' table at holiday meals to entertain the little one. While living on Grand Lake he owned a fishing boat which he took out often. He also invited his younger relatives to 'hang' with him there on a regular basis. Milan's loving, giving and generous nature made him a good friend to many. He is well remembered for his free lifestyle, his spontaneous humor, and his signature tee shirt and overalls. He is preceded in transition by an infant brother Matthew Wade Morgan in 1966, his mother Barbara Morgan and brother Wesley Morgan in 2010, his dad Paul Morgan in 2018, and his brother-in-law Dr. Allen Sipes in 2021. He is survived by three sisters, Pamala Sipes of Tulsa, Lora Denton of Edmond, Kay Watson of Joshua Texas, and one brother Doug Morgan of Grove, Oklahoma, as well as two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to the home health workers, Hospice employees and Greenbrier staff members, as well as loving caregivers and very good friends for caring for and loving Milan during these last months. No formal services are planned for Milan as he lives on in our hearts and memories. If you are so inclined, donations may be made in Milan's memory to a charity of your choice that serves senior citizens, (or in the true spirit of Milan a small donation to a casino near you!)
