Obituary

Our Dad and Grandfather, Monroe Reece, passed away at the age of 93 after a long decline in health. He is in the arms of Jesus! Monroe F. Reece was born in Carnegie, OK. His parents were Monroe F. Reece, Sr. and Lucille Kimbrough Reece. Monroe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He returned home to Oklahoma and attended OSU graduating with a Bachelors Degree and later, received a Masters degree from OU. Monroe worked for the Tulsa City/County Health Department and retired as the Assistant Director in 1987. Monroe was preceded in death by Janiece, his loving wife of 63 years, sister Mary Neeson, brother William Reece and son-in-law Tom Renfro. His surviving family include his daughters Karen Renfro of Tulsa and Nancy Reece of Redding, CA; grandchildren; Sean and Laura Allen of Tulsa, Kelly and Trevor McCollom of Broken Arrow, Matt Allen and Julie Ledbetter of Muskogee, Sonny Smith of Santa Rosa, CA. and Robyn Smith of Owasso; twin great grandsons Easton and Westin McCollom who were a very special joy to him. He is also survived by a special cousin, Herman Reece of Edmond, OK. Monroe was an active and long time member of Asbury Methodist Church, he loved the Lord and his family. He shared his gifts and talents with his church, community and neighbors. We loved our Dad and grandfather, he was a good friend to many. The family wishes to thank his many caretakers and Cura Hospice. We also want to thank Wayne Werner, Asbury Pastoral Care Staff Member, for his long friendship and dedicated ministry to Monroe.
