Obituary

Norma Brown, (Plaisted), favorably known as "Mimi", age 76, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by all of her children on March 9, 2020. She was born on June 11, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa to Wilbur "Webb" and Geneva (Burton) Plaisted. She married Edward Walter Brown, Sr., on October 18, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a homemaker until her children were grown and worked as attendance secretary for Locust Grove High School until she retired. She loved Chinese movies (with or without subtitles), 17th Century romance novels, Sooner football, and buying jewelry from Wish.com. Although she idolized Jackie Kennedy, and tried to emulate her, Mimi would often find herself speaking in an unfiltered way, but you couldn't help but love and adore her. Of all of her activities, Mimi enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She spent her life taking care of those she loved, and all of her family members knew she loved them, even when she was candid and spoke without hesitation. She is survived by Cindy David (daughter), of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Edward (son) and Dana Brown of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Dianna Brown-Barone (daughter) of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Robbin Nelson (daughter) of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Austin (grandson) and Luli David of Dallas, Texas; Sam (grandson) and Richanda Freeman of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Rebecca Jo (granddaughter) David and Conner Robinson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Meagan Brown (granddaughter) of Salina, Oklahoma; Keith Nelson (grandson) of Enid, Oklahoma; Laura (granddaughter) and A.J. Ingram of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Whitney Brown (granddaughter) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Gabriella (granddaughter) and Justin Spradlin of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Justin Nelson (grandson) of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Jacob Pilgrim ((grandson) of Pryor, Oklahoma; Hannah Pilgrim (granddaughter) of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; and blessed with 15 great-grandchildren. Mimi is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Brown, son, L.D. Brown, and twin brother, Norman Plaisted. A celebration of Mimi's life will be held at a later date. Date and time are currently pending. legacytouch.com D63Y4CZK
