Onita Sue "Bunny" Campbell passed from this world on February 13, 2022.
Two things were always true about Bunny: If she touched your hair, she probably touched you heart and if she touched your heart, well, she probably touched your hair.
Bunny was born April 30th, 1941 just north of Skiatook, Oklahoma to Robert Warren and Juanita Mae Ridenour. She was a unique part of a tightly knit and very loving family.
Bunny was a firebrand though, she was strong willed and set on striking out and making her own family, even at a young age. In 1956 she married William Sneed. Their daughter Diana passed away on the day of her birth, but their love for her lived on in their hearts for the rest of their lives. Bunny graduated beauty school in 1963. She always saw the beauty in people, and her gift and passion was bringing it out for everyone else to see. Her first marriage ended after ten years and she set her eyes on the future. In 1967 she met the love of her life and husband of 54 years, Frank Campbell.
Frank was a package deal though. He came with two young daughters from his previous marriage, Kimberli Ann and Deanna Louise. She was delighted to become the other Mom to these girls and immediately accepted that role, loving them as her own. Over the next few years Frank and Bunny added two more children to their family, Tiffani Dawn and Christopher Sean.
Opportunity took the family to Tempe, Arizona in 1974 and out to Richland, Washington in 1977. Bunny was never one to start a task and allow it to go unfinished, so in 1979 she went back to school and finished her education. She then took a position at the Hanford Nuclear facility as a coordinator of engineering data management.
The couples shared dedication and loyalty to her Oklahoma family brought them back here in 1981. She immediately returned to her passion working as a beautician. She and Frank purchased a home in the lakeside community of Westport and after working for various salons she was determined to create one of her own.
She opened Bunny's in 1984 and it quickly grew into Bunny and Company. Through her hard work and that of the people she employed and considered family, she enjoyed quite a bit of success running her business for 34 years until she finally retired in 2018. That same year the couple purchased a new home south of Sand Springs where they spent their remaining years together.
Bunny is survived by her daughter Kimberli Phillips and husband Bryn, her daughter Deanna Campbell, her son Sean Campbell and his fiancé Amanda Lyons. Her heart was made full by her six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Campbell, her daughter Diana Sneed and her daughter Tiffani Cox; her sister Shirley Harville, brother Windsor Ridenour, and sister Wanda Forbes.
She was flawless as a mother and "Mammaw." She took great pride in her new home. But her favorite things were hanging out with her great grandson Asher Warren or burning through a literal mountain of what she called "smutty" romance novels.
Her life will be celebrated everyday, but a public celebration will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Stanley's Grand Chapel (3959 E. 31st St. Tulsa, OK.
