Patricia Sisson Cherry Bales passed away Friday evening, October 30, 2015 at Clarehouse in Tulsa. She was 88. Pat was born Aug. 6, 1927, to Faye Ruth (Thompson) and Minor Scott Sisson at St. John Hospital in Tulsa. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Pat married Joseph Cherry shortly after World War II, and they had a son, Scott. She later married Charles (Chuck) Bales. Pat held a number of jobs over the years, but primarily was a homemaker. She was a big fan of the University of Tulsa and served as chairwoman of the Welcoming Committee for a number of years when husband Chuck was director of public relations for the school. She was a devoted member of Unity Church of Christianity and held many positions in the church over the past 30 years. She and Chuck started the pre-kindergarten Sunday school program a few years after they became members. She was diligent about sending out birthday cards to at least 80 family members and friends every year. She still had three written ahead of time and ready to go at the time of her death. She is survived by brother, Thomas Sisson (Glenda); son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Judy Cherry; grandchildren, Debra Jeffcoat (David), Kim Marshall (Jonathan), Teri Goza (Kelly), Michael Cherry (Samantha), Allison Woods (Ryan) and J.C. Waldeck (Gina); great-grandchildren, Brandon Skeen, Sarah Ruppert, Jonah Emmons, Grace Goza, Gabe Goza, Kayla Cherry, Ben Waldeck, Adam Mason, Ryson Woods and Cash Woods; and great-great-grandson, Jacob Ruppert. She was like a second mother to her five nieces, Elizabeth Nash (Mike, deceased), Brenda Casper (David), Nancy Babich (Bob), Laura Garrison (Brad) and Mary Rankin (Chris) and was adored by her many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 6, at Unity Church of Christianity, 3355 S. Jamestown Ave., Tulsa.
