Patsy Ruth Evans passed away peacefully on May 17,2020 at the age of 91 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on November 9, 1928, to Hallie Mae (Goodman) Evans and Elbert Gilliam Evans. She graduated from Sallisaw High School and went on to earn two Bachelor's degrees and two Masters Degrees in Home Economics, Fine Arts, and Journalism at Tulsa University and the University of Georgia. She also did Post Graduate studies in Fine Arts at Oklahoma State University. She had a colorful professional career which included being a free-lance fashion coordinator, owner of a fashion boutique, radio personality, a County Extension Agent, and Marketing Director for Renberg's Department Store. She was also the owner of Pat Evans Art Studio in Stillwater for over ten years. During this time she influenced the lives of many young people and adults by sharing her creativity and helping them discover their own talents. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo Evans Stewart, who she loved dearly, and her parents. She is survived by her niece, Linda Stewart Flores (Gilbert) of San Antonio, Tx., her nephew, David Stewart (Kim) of Tulsa, and their families. She is also survived by her son Glenn Darwin and daughter, Jana Lei Darwin Strunk. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, 10:00am, at Stillwater Bible Church, 7617 W. 6th Ave., Stillwater, Okla., in accordance with current health protocols.
