Ramona Sue Poe Kouri
Ramona Kouri, 79, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2020 in the Fort Gibson Nursing Home with her daughter by her side.
Mrs. Kouri was born to Jerome and Ruby (Lewis) Poe on March 29, 1941, in Hayti, Missouri. She graduated in the class of 1959 from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa. Ramona lived a full life as a wonderful mother, wife, and office manager. She was immensely proud and supportive of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She especially loved her role as Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ramona will be lovingly remembered by her children Becki (Conrad) of Hulbert and Neil of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren Danielle, Nicole, Brooke (Trevon), and Jillian; five great-grandchildren; and other family members and long-time friends. Ramona was predeceased by her devoted husband Gene, grandson J.J., and sister Sandra.
She retired from her position as the church secretary at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, AR, where she contributed to helping others, a testament to her caring disposition.
A graveside memorial for family and close friends will be held on November 6th, 2020, at 2 PM at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith, AR.
As an expression of sympathy, the family asks memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of your choice.
