Robert (Bob) Mower 91 of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday November 29th. Robert served in the Army during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict. He was a highly skilled retired heliarc welder from Acme Engineering, and he was a talented carpenter. There will be a service held at the National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson. Full Obituary for Robert Mower Robert (Bob) Edgar Mower age 91 of Fort Gibson and Muskogee Oklahoma passed away of natural causes Wednesday November 29th 2017. Robert was born August 10, 1926 in Altoona Pennsylvania along with brothers Mike, and Arnold. Bob was drafted into the Army at 18, and was stationed in Hawaii during World War II. He married Ruby Mower of Ft. Gibson Oklahoma, and was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War, and he was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. Bob was an artist, an extremely talented carpenter, and an avid lover of the Big Band music. He was a highly skilled heliarc welder, working at and retiring from, Acme Engineering. As a welder, Bob physically help build the bridge between Muskogee and Ft. Gibson Oklahoma. He is survived by his two daughters, and niece, Debra (Debbie) Richerson of Oklahoma, Shirley Childres of Kansas, and Carolyn Swilley of Oklahoma, and grandchildren, Seneca Childres, married to Shandi Childres of Arkansas, Rachel Harbor of Oklahoma, Heather Childres of Kansas, and Sarah Grimes of Oklahoma. He is also survived by great grandchildren, Noah, Garret, and Hana Peterson of Oklahoma, Sontee Burns of Kansas, Seceda, and Barrett Childres of Arkansas. Even though the surviving daughters have said their goodbyes to their dad, they would like to publicly thank Robert Mower and Ruby Mower for not being selfish people; for adopting them as young children, for always working, for providing a home, and being there when needed.
