Roger A. Johnson, age 77, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. John's Medical Center. He was born in Nowata, Oklahoma on October 12, 1941 to Arthur and Charleen Johnson. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Robert, and his infant son, Donovan. Survivors include his daughter, Bronwyn Johnson Toles, her husband, Tye Toles, two granddaughters, Alexi and Taryn Toles, one sister, Artha McGinnis, a nephew, Bobby Evans, a niece, Susan Jordan, and a number of relatives.
Roger graduated from Nowata High School and attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A successful entrepreneur, he founded Johnson Construction Company, which was his pride and joy. His passion was philosophy, and he was a motivational speaker and author as well. Roger was a lifelong croquet player and founding member of the Tulsa Croquet Club. He showed his expertise by winning 1st place at the First Philbrook Croquet Tournament in 1987. The club still hosts tournaments annually. He will be remembered for his tremendous generosity, always willing to help family and friends including his parents, aunts, brother, sister, and daughter.
There will be a private memorial service.
