Thomas Samuel Downs, age 74 of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away September 27, 2017 in, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Downs was born August 15, 1943 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1964. Thomas held jobs as a Grocery Manager, Machinist, Pepsi-Cola Driver, Pastor of Fairfax United Methodist Church He was a gifted actor and performer in numerous plays - most noteworthy role was the lead in 'Will Rogers at Home' production at Claremore College and he authored 'A Visit with Will' an individual monologue show performed at numerous banquets and events throughout the midwest. He culminated his career as an Oklahoma Educator retiring as Superintendent in Bramon, Oklahoma. Thomas is preceded in death by his sisters: Cheryl Katharine King and Christina Elizabeth Downs. Survivors include his wife: T. Deann Downs of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his sons: Thomas Michael Wynashe Downs of Tyler, Texas and Paul Anthony Guthrie of Houston, Texas; his daughter Katherine Anne Downs of Xian, China; his sister Pamela Wretha Musick of Mannford, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 5 nieces; 4 nephews; 1 aunt; and 1 uncle. Memorial services for Thomas will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
